Few Year ago, Government of Punjab decided to make Shri Chamkaur Sahib as a Tourist Place. For this they decided to make Theme Park in the city near Sirhind Canal on Ropar-Ludhiana Highway.
To make one step ahead in the process, now Cabinet Minister Sh. Charanjit Singh Channi said that their government finalize 14 crore budget for the beautification of the city.
According to Sh. Channi, beautification project includes exterior development of Gurudwara Shri Katalgarh Sahib Road, beautification of Canal ridge and construction of pathway along the Canal.
Project of Beautification start on May 24, 2020. Head Sikh employee from Gurudwara Shri Katalgarh Sahib started the project by putting the cement material for the tiles.
Beautification Project is allocated to the Firm named as Pankaj Contractor. According to the Employee of Firm, Exterior decoration of Gurudwara Katalgarh Road will cost approx. 5.03 Crore and expected to be completed before Shahidi Jor Mela in December 2020 December 2021 (Updated).
